Watney was the very first runner-up for Miss California USA 2002. Watney started her career at KMPH-TV in Fresno in September 2003. She started as a morning traffic reporter before transitioning to the anchor for weekend sports and sports reporter for weekdays in 2005. She moved to Massachusetts in 2008 and began working for New England Sports Network. She worked as an on-game reporter for the Boston Red Sox. Watney also hosted the Ultimate Red Sox Show and the Red Sox Report.In January 2012, Watney began working for Time Warner Cable SportsNet as reporter for the LA Galaxy. In November 2012, Watney was hired by MLB Network. She worked there for nine years. She was host of Quick Pitch. Heidi joined Apple TV+ 2022.
