Madekwe comes from an ethnically diverse family in South London in England. The mother of her child is English and her father Nigerian. She grew up in the south of a London community estate, where she attended The Brit School at age fourteen. She went to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London where she gained a BA in acting. While attending the school, she was a part-time actor in numerous stage productions such as the King Henry V playing Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights portraying Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe started her career as an actress with the film Storm Damage. Since then she's made guest appearances for Teachers, Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Her debut film as a performer came from that of the Woody Allen 2007 movie Cassandra's Dream. She starred with Colin Farrell & Ewan MacGregor. Her success resulted in her being cast as Elisha in a single-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot, then appear in the six-episode series Trexx and Flipside as Ollie. She also had the opportunity to play the part as Bambi on The ITV2 drama series Secret Diary of a Call Girl and was featured in the three and two series. Madekwe also played the title character in How to lose friends & alienate people that was aired by Sony Pictures Entertainment back in the year 2008. She was also as a character in Little Sweet Thing, by Roy Williams, and Flight Path, composed by David Watson.
Madekwe officially made her US debut in the series The Beautiful Life in 2009. The show aired just two episodes at The CW, and was later removed from the air. Ashley Davenport, a character from ABC's Revenge drama series, was cast for her as Ashley Davenport. Madekwe was a regular in the drama series of Revenge on ABC in two episodes. In May 2013 that she would be leaving the series following an appearance in the very first season of the third. Madekwe starred as Tituba on the show Salem between 2014 and 2016. Madekwe wed her actor boyfriend Iddo goldberg in June of 2012. Both have appeared in Secret Diary of a Call Girl. They also played as partners in Salem.

Ashley Leggat, an actress that was nominated two times for a Gemini Award, is a member of an extensive Hamilton family. Her parents were Roy and Patty and four older brothers -Rob, Brett, and twins Todd and Bram. Ashley's family, which is all athletic, played baseball during the summer and played hockey in the winter months. Ashley was never a walker, she danced, so when she was just two years old, she took up Baby Ballet -and she fell in love. Ashley became passionate about dance following this. Ashley competed in top-level divisions for jazz, tap hip hop, ballet the lyrical musical theatre, acrobatics and pointe, until she finished high school. She also won top soloists awards in all major dance contests, including International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance among others.
